For the fifth year, nearly 50 Key Center students travelled to Waterford’s Springfield location and enjoyed fun, food and dancing – celebrating one of the most memorable adolescent milestones.

With a theme of “Vegas Baby”, the Waterford ballroom, already decked out with sparkling chandeliers, was adorned with casino decorations. The student planning committee determined the menu and Executive Chef Michael Rogers and his team were happy to prepare the array of fun finger foods that included pizza, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks and waffle fries. Students began dancing to the tunes of the DJ as soon as they entered the ballroom and the fun lasted till the end with the final parent/child dance.

Earlier in the day, students of Edison High School’s cosmetology program visited the Key Center students to provide hair and makeup consultations and to help everyone prepare for the big event. More than 20 students from Robert E. Lee High School, who have served as peer mentors to the Key Center students throughout the year, were also in attendance.

Every high school student deserves a prom, and this Day Prom gives the students from Key Center School a chance to have a gorgeous, wonderful experience that will give them beautiful memories that will be theirs forever.

Waterford was honored to be a part of this special day and looks forward to hosting a similar event at its Fair Oaks location next week.

We offered a chicken dish, a meat dish and a vegetarian option.  Offering a variety of entrees allowed for all of  our guests to select exactly what they wanted.

At our tasting we had an opportunity to taste all three dishes and to get the chef’s input on which sides would complement each.  It was great to have this one-on-one attention from the person who would be overseeing our reception.

We wanted the meal to have a classy, sophisticated feel, so we added a lemon sorbet intermezzo.   We also had the meal plated and served, but buffet was also an option.  Instead of a wedding cake, we topped the meal off with cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcake.  They were delicious!

We got so many compliments on the meal!  I was overjoyed with how the meal (and the entire evening) turned out.

“The Waterford is a great value for your money. In NOVA the price per plate can be through the roof, and finding a location that was within our budget but still allowed us to have an open bar all night was great. The Waterford’s staff is very professional and they really know their stuff. I was especially impressed with the food, we were able to have a carving station, an entree, a starch, two vegetable dishes and a salad. We had a full bar during our cocktail hour, wine service during dinner and then a full bar for the remaining three hours of the reception.”

Tournament Details

Expect a truly enjoyable tournament experience.  Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, VA, ranked #14 in GolfWeek Magazine’s Top Municipal Courses in the US, is a gem of a golf course with great conditions, wide fairways and big changes in elevation.  In order to speed up the pace of play, we will allow only one foursome on each Par 3 and Par 4 and two foursomes on Par 5′s – approximately 2/3 of the golfers you normally see at these charity events.  In order to respect your time and get you where you need to be post-tournament, the luncheon will be short, delicious and to the point.  What you won’t get are speeches and raffle prizes that you already have (who needs another golf umbrella?).  What you will get are attractive awards and a delicious luncheon.

Once again, we have invited a number of PGA teaching professionals to  play along with you and dispense FREE swing tips right out on the course!  Your foursome is even allowed to count some of your pro’s shots as part of your score.  This has been a huge hit for our golfers; even the pros have a blast.
